Wikipedia - Keflavík men's basketball

The Keflavík men's basketball team, commonly known as Keflavík, is the men's professional basketball department of Keflavík ÍF (Keflavík, íþrótta- og ungmennafélag), based in the town of Reykjanesbær in Iceland. They currently play in Úrvalsdeild karla.

Keflavík jest islandzkim klubem koszykarskim z siedzibą w Keflavíku. Został założony w 1999 roku. Klub występuje w Úrvalsdeild karla, najwyższej klasie rozgrywkowej na Islandii.

Keflavík zdobył trzy tytuły mistrzowskie Úrvalsdeild karla w latach 2008, 2010 i 2015. Klub zdobył także cztery Puchary Islandii w latach 2006, 2007, 2013 i 2016.

Keflavík występował w europejskich rozgrywkach koszykarskich, takich jak FIBA Europe Cup i FIBA Europe Challenge Cup.

Klub jest znany z dobrej atmosfery na meczach domowych. Arena Keflavíku, Keilir Arena, jest jedną z najgłośniejszych aren w lidze islandzkiej.

Keflavík ma silną tradycję koszykarską. Klub wyprodukował wielu znakomitych koszykarzy, w tym Hlynur Bæringsson, Jón Axel Guðmundsson i Haukur Helgason.
