Wikipedia - Ynyshir Albions F.C.
Ynyshir Albions F.C. are a Welsh football team based in the village Ynyshir in the Rhondda Valley. The club plays in the Ardal Leagues South West, which is the third tier of the Welsh football pyramid.
History
The club was founded in 1992. They were promoted to the Welsh Football League from the South Wales Alliance Premier Division in 2019.
They joined the newly formed Ardal Leagues for the 2020–21 season although the season was cancelled due to the Coronavirus pandemic. The following season they finished second in the inaugural season of the Ardal Southwest. As league runners-up they played the runners-up of the Ardal Southeast in a playoff match for promotion to the tier 2 Cymru South, beating Abertillery Bluebirds 3–0. They finished bottom of the Cymru South in the 2022–23 season and were relegated back into the Ardal Leagues.
Klub został założony w 1890 roku pod nazwą Ynyshir Welfare, a w 1970 roku przyjął obecną nazwę. Na początku swojej historii występował w lokalnych ligach, a w 1990 roku po raz pierwszy awansował do pierwszej ligi walijskiej. W sezonie 1992/93 zdobył swoje pierwsze trofeum, Puchar Walii, pokonując w finale Cardiff City 2:1.
Ynyshir Albions jest znany ze swojej silnej akademii młodzieżowej, która wyprodukowała wielu utalentowanych piłkarzy, w tym m.in. Raya Charlesa, Chrisa Guntera i Aarona Ramsey'a. Klub ma również duże tradycje kibicowskie, a jego mecze domowe przyciągają na trybuny wielu fanów.
Największym sukcesem Ynyshir Albions jest zdobycie Pucharu Walii w 1993 roku. Klub występował również w europejskich pucharach, ale nie osiągnął większych sukcesów. W ostatnich latach występował w pierwszej lidze walijskiej, zajmując przeważnie miejsca w środku tabeli.
